The Frankfort Community Public Library has an opening for Teen Services Clerk. This 15-hour per week position will be opened until filled. Applications are available at the circulation desk and must be filled out prior to an interview. Job Objective: The Teen Services Clerk will assist the Teen Services Librarian to provide quality library service, materials and programs to children, teens and adults at the Frankfort Community Public Library and Clinton County Contractual Public Libraries.

Requirements

·         High School Diploma

·         Previous library experience is helpful, but not required

Schedule

·         Part-time Hourly Position

·         15 Hours per week

·         Work evenings as scheduled

·         Work Saturdays as scheduled

·         Work Sundays as scheduled

Duties and Responsibilities

·         Serve patrons at the Teen Service Desk

·         Assist patrons in locating materials or equipment

·         Supervise patrons

·         Promote programs and assist patrons in program registration

·         Check-out and monitor patron computer use in the Teen Area

·         Assist Teen Services Librarian as necessary

·         Answer patron Reader’s Advisory or Reference questions as necessary

·         Shelve materials in the Teen Area

·         May attend professional conferences, read professional publications or take courses to improve ability to serve the library as approved by supervisor

·         Conduct tours of the Teen Area

·         Conduct demonstrations of the library’s digital media equipment

·         Ability to assist patrons with computer related questions

·         Ability to instruct patrons about library use and expected behavior

·         Other duties as assigned by the Head of Technical Services and/or the Library Director

Skills

·         Ability to effectively communicate person-to-person, on the telephone, in writing or through email

·         Ability to effectively utilize the library’s ILS for necessary tasks such as checking-out or checking-in materials

·         Ability to effectively utilize the library’s online catalog to search for materials

·         Ability to shelve with the Dewey Decimal system and knowledge shelving placement and procedures

·         Ability to successfully navigate computers and the internet

TITLE:  Youth Theatre Supervisor

REPORTS TO:  Arts and Education Manager

 SALARY/WAGE: Contract Position

 WORK SCHEDULE: Schedule to be determined with Arts and Education Manager and the needs of the position.

 OPEN:  Position open until filled

 SUMMARY:  Responsible for the design, development, management and implementation of theatre performances and workshops for children up to age 18. Choose appropriate shows for production throughout the year. Either serve as director or select a director for the production.  Conduct auditions and cast the shows.  Design and build the set, costumes, and properties for the performance within show budget.  Organize parent volunteers and paid assistant(s).  Seek sponsorships to raise funds for performance. 

 QUALIFICATIONS:  Knowledge of and experience with theatre stage production.  The ability to teach children specific and general theatre skills.  The ability to plan and organize work efficiently and meet deadlines.   Must know how to operate video camera, video projectors and theatre sound and light equipment.
